The domaine de la Semellerie stretches over 39 hectares of some of the best land, on the hillsides in the village of Cravant-les-Côteaux. The wines are ideally situated, facing southwards dominating the Vienne valley.
The vineyard is planted on clay silica soils with an ambundance of pebbles which ensure that the grapes reach a perfect maturity. They also guarantee perfect drainage and retain the heat of the sun during the day which is then absorbed by the grapes during the night. Chinon red wine is made from the grape variety called Cabernet Franc and is an “ Appellation d'Origine Controlée ” wine.
Our Wines are harvested and vinified with great care, respecting both traditional and modern techniques such as temperature control. Our unique aim is quality.

Cuvée Domaine
A wine coming from wines aged between 20 and 35 years old, bottled straight from the vat without ageing in oak. An easy drinking wine with aromas of red fruit, to be drunk within 5 years after bottling.
Cuvée Vieilles Vignes “ Kévin ” old vines
A wine coming from wines aged between 50 and 60 years old, matured in oak for 7 months before bottling. A quality wine with smooth, lingering tannins and aromas of blackcurrant. A wine which can be laid down for 10 to 20 years.
Cuvée Déborah
A wine coming from vines over 65 years old and matured in new oak for 12 months A well-balanced, top quality wine which can be laid down for over 20 years.
